is it my imagination
that you crawled
out from a fairytale
bursting at its seams
and why when i want

do the obstacles grow
bigger or somehow
seem bigger
than what they first seemed
i feel stupid
for knowing before
that someday i would
know this feeling again
i knew then when
your face kissed my eyes
maybe i just couldn’t touch
any truth or ever realize
this feeling of impending doom
