| Happily Ever After...THE END I once believed in fairy tales. The prince and the poor maiden meet I hoped that in a world somewhere. They'd kiss on a cobbled stone street. I know there is a glass slipper. A wish comes true on the little dipper. That’s a shoe that doesn’t fit me. And those are stars I’ll never see. Cinderella dressed before the ball. She scrubs floors after I’ve scrubbed them all. Sleeping beauty pricks her finger slight. She sleeps when I have only sleepless nights. Snow White was lucky she had seven men. I’d be lucky if I had even one of them. Ariel swimming under the bluest sea. Even she has a man now why not me? Even Beauty could in her way love a Beast. I could find one of those at the very least! I think I will no longer seek my fairy tale. I know it’s only fantasy and I know it well. “They live happily ever after” but then I remember the biggest words are always THE END! tonight i was cleaning files and found this... on 6-17-2000 i was writing the above…. where were you? doing what my love?
